Calling a telepath without actually having telepathy was tricky. Rose May did not even have the ability to sense telepathy until it was being used on her in the first place, which made trying to get the attention of a telepath that much harder. "Shouting" her thoughts to her always felt like she was yelling into a void, and most days she had to spend a few days warming up and getting the right idea in her head before the thoughts actually traveled anywhere. Those days she wished she could easily slip into another person's mind, then would remember she would go insane.
Luckily, her housemate was a vampire.
Nur.
She estimated it was about a minute before something foreign slipped into her mind, curling around it like a childhood blanket. Blankets didn't tend to snicker in her head, however, the feeling of a grin floating through.
Calling for me already? I thought you said you would last two days without my assistance. The feminine, rich-accented voice purred with gloating and Rose May groaned, rolling her eyes.
I wasn't expecting this. Visualization, at least, came easier to her; Nur rapidly got the hint, and Rose May felt an odd prick in her eyes before an impressed whistle echoed in her head.
I didn't know you worked in a cave. And what is that on the desk?
A granite spider. They're harmless. They were to humans, at least; those rats would not agree with her, and rumour had it that demons tamed them to use as companions and hunters. How this one had gotten away from the caves and into a city building was anyone's guess.
That thing could eat a sparrow! I want one! Rose May swore she saw a look of complete confusion on the spider's face before it and its impressive den vanished without a trace. I'll keep in the closet for the annoying customers. It'll eat fingers, right?
Rose May chuckled. I need the Invisible Cleaners.
They liked it, said it was funny, so yays.
