A torrential downpour soaked him to the bone as he slipped down the Rezten streets, boots sloshing through neverending puddles. Despite the dismal weather, the streets were packed, and so the flood rippled like the ocean waves, soaking him nearly up to his knees. Over the crowds, he could see people huddled in the alleyways, old cloth of whatever they could find wrapped around their bodies, hollow hungry eyes watching and waiting for an opportunity.

His pockets felt achingly empty seeing them, though that could also be because Tegre had little money to spare. Kader had her business to keep running, otherwise they would be joining the unfortunate in their alleyways. Yet during the rainy winters, he felt like they made money for the business only to funnel that money into keeping it going, with barely enough to feed themselves. And thus, he ghosted the streets, on the hunt for work.

He was not entirely sure what he looked for – usually he hovered around Kader and watched what she did, and she had been very suspicious when he requested to head out alone. Yet she had allowed it, and so there he was, splashing through the shallow streams that Rezten had turned into, looking for something, anything he could do.

It would help if he had more talents, but years of depression had left him utterly useless.

Now to get to work or something.
