White Tea, Anyone?

Hello all.

The NP I am seeing for meds wants me to try drinking only white tea at night, since she thinks caffeine may be making my anxiety much worse. Seeing as I like any kind of tea, I am willing to try this out, and am thus switching to only white teas after about 3 or 4PM.

However, my stash of white tea is currently limited to only two kinds right now.

Does anyone out there have some recommendations for good white teas, whether loose or bagged? I'd love to hear about it so I can get a few more so I don't get bored with my selection and thus potentially slip off the path.

Thank you! Hopefully, writing this weekend. Having a bit of an off night emotionally so going to try reading, sipping some South Indian Oothu white tea, and playing Sims.

Edit - You may also recommend good herbal teas or even decaffeinated if you know of any really good brands, but I tend to be wary of both kinds (most herbal teas taste weird to me, while I just have a silly "it's all in my head" thing that makes decaffeinated tea taste not as good).

Tschuess.

Teavana has some amazing teas (loose leaf) but they are kind of pricey. I haven't tried any of the white teas, but their other blends are amazing. Their Tulsi Dosha Chai Rooibos Tea is one of my favorites. Rooibos, or red tea, is caffiene free. So I tend to drink this one in the evening. Their teas are also good for about three steepings. So they might be expensive, but you can get a good bit out of it.

I haven't tried the white tea blends as many of them have fruit or candied fruit pieces in the blend and I am on a restricted diet that does not allow for any form of sugars (including fruit). I look forward to the day I am done with Lyme treatment and can re-expand my diet.

I quite like rooibos. Not sure how to fully describe the flavor. The tea by itself has a nice mild flavor. It's not as strong or bitter as black teas (though I am quite fond of those too), nor as intense as some green teas can be. It is particularly nice when blended with chai seasonings, vanilla, or coconut (or some mix of all those). I find it can be really soothing and lovely after a long day. It is also nice as it adds some variety for non-caffeinated choices.

It's nice to talk about teas with someone. :D Although this has made me realize that I need a tea icon. :)

I would definitely start with just a teabag or two from Stash as everyone's taste buds are different. If oversteeped rooibos can be very strong and slightly bitter. I have a tendency to understeep my teas for that reason.
